Arts Development

Part of the role of the National Drama Advisor is to advocate on behalf of its members and to ensure that community drama in Scotland has a voice when it comes to changes in Arts policies and funding decisions. In addition SCDA is part of a network of voluntary arts organisations in Scotland who can share resources and ideas.

An important part of the work we do is to keep our members informed of any changes in legislation in areas such as Health and Safety or Child Protection as quickly as possible. We do this through directly contacting clubs as well as updating information in the member’s area of our website.

We would encourage any of our members to contact us with any questions or concerns and if we do not immediately know the answer we will find out for you. We will try to find practical and pragmatic solutions to any problems that you have whether it is about the day to day running of your club or a production. Our commitment is to supporting and developing amateur theatre throughout Scotland.
