A delightful new adaptation of Moliere`s "L`Ecole des
Femmes" by leading Scottish poet and playwright, Liz Lochhead. Middle-aged
Arnolphe believes that all wives cheat on their husbands. He has kept his
young ward, Agnes, in a convent for years, sheltered from the ways of the
world. He decides to marry her when she comes of age, believing that her
innocence and ignorance of the world, will protect him from cuckoldry. Whilst
away on a business trip, he leaves her in the care of two daft servants,
with strict instructions that she be kept in isolation. His best laid schemes
go agley when she meets and falls in love with young Horace. Much of the
comedy lies in Arnolphe`s jealousy, fuelled by the fact that he has actually
fallen in love with Agnes, despite his attitude towards women.

Ayckbourn's black but hilarious comedy about a dysfunctional family Christmas. Nevelle prefers his garden shed to his fussy wife Belinda. They have invited seven friends and relatives. Bernard, a feeble doctor with an alcoholic wife, (Phyllis), is obsessed with the puppet show he puts on each year. Eddie is a failed entrepreneur with a nagging, pregnant wife (Pattie). Belinda's emotionally confused sister, Rachel, has invited Clive, a suave writer, whose wandering eye soon leads to trouble. Harvey, a belligerent military type, completes the slide into mayhem.
