SCDA Training
1. National Training Events:
these will run in a high quality well equipped venue with a range of respected theatre professionals. The choice of skills on offer is usually based on discussions with Divisional representatives and recurring themes at Festivals.2. Divisional Workshops:
these are run at the request of the Divisional Committee and will be run in a high quality venue as centrally located as possible within the Division,3. District/Club workshops:
these are run at the request of the District/Club and are usually run either at a local venue or club premises.4. Production Development sessions:
we can arrange a professional tutor to visit your club to assist you with a production. This can be tailored to the particular needs of the club and can cover anything from performance skills to Director assistance. Technical skills to make-up or costumes.5. Individual Training courses:
from time to time SCDA receive information about training courses and residential programmes that may be of interest to our members. As well as passing this information on wherever possible we will try to negotiate favourable rates. We hold details of a range of tutors that is constantly being updated. You can be assured that we work very hard to match the tutor to your specific needs and we only work with respected, high quality professionals. We will have taken up references and police checks where appropriate.
We can organise the event for you including recruitment, budgeting and evaluation. If you prefer to plan the event yourself we can recommend suitable tutors.
As these events do have to pay for themselves there will be a charge attached. However costs are kept to a minimum. We may be able to recommend funds that you could apply for outwith SCDA in order to subsidise these workshops.
If you wish to discuss training please do not hesitate to contact us on headquarters@scda.org.uk.
